Objective:

• To encourage prisoners to become law abiding citizens, industrious persons and income earners

Project Type:

• Vocational and spiritual development program.

Target Groups:

• Prisoners sentenced more than 24 month

Selection Criteria:

• Prisoners with potentials to excel in the field of their choice
• Practical experience in relevant skills
• Assessed to be of good behavior and shows willingness to change

Types of Assistance:

• Provision of special ‘seed’ funds to purchase equipment and planting materials
• Advisory services through Small Business Unit and Fiji Development Bank
• Advisory services through Extension Unit of the Ministry of Primary Industries.

Performance Indicators:

• Improved living standards of ex-prisoners
• Attainment of self- employment by ex-prisoners
• Reduction in recidivism rate of ex-prisoners.
