Improved Sweet Potatoe Yields

BOUNTIFUL HARVESTFOR SWEET POTATO

There is one wayof planting sweet potato (camote) that has been tried thatcan make it yield 20% more than the ordinary way of planting. In the manner tried, the stems to be planted are taken fromhealthy plants, two to three months old.

The cut stems tobe planted are watered first, then covered with a plasticsheet for two days. When ready for planting, the stems willhave developed small roots which will hasten the growth ofthe new plant.

It is advised bya Puerto Rican researcher not to remove the leaves beforeplanting, as this will reduce the roots that will eventuallybecome crops.
